A native son of West Texas, Steven has recently returned to his home town of Odessa. Making the decision to close his Gallery in Ingram, Texas and provide more time to his paintings. Steven will be acquiring new galleries to display and sell his works. Please check back to see new galleries who will be representing him.
A signature member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America since 1981, Steven has a fondness for this medium over all others. The spontaneity and freshness of the colors are unmatched. Public recognition of his pastels and his ability as a teacher has made him a favorite among collectors and students.
Standing out as an accomplished portrait painter, Steven has incorporated landscapes into his portfolio more these past few years. The love of nature has found him painting Plein air (on site) more and more; recognition of the quality of his work came with the acceptance as one of the first signature members of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.
Currently Steven is bringing his oil paints out of retirement and will be creating new pieces from oils, he is also starting to work with clay to hopefully create several new bronze sculptures.
Keep an eye out for new creations!
